Okay, so I have to say that the 2010 Toyota Prius is definitely one of those cars that everyone in the world should know about and own at some point in their life. In this day and age with everyone in the world worrying about gas prices, the 2010 Toyota Prius is slashing those gas prices and saying that you do not have to worry about them because this is a gas/electric hybrid car!

Hybrid cars in this day and age are becoming increasingly popular and while I do not own one specifically, I was thinking about purchasing one and it would definitely be the 2010 Toyota Prius. This car debuted at Detroit’s Auto Show this year and honestly, it was a freakin’ hit!

So if you want to go a little greener, you should take a look into 2010 Toyota Prius, this car is absolutely one of the best on the market for green cars!

According to the recently concluded conference on the Stimulus Bill, everything pretty much stays the same. There are tax credits added for plug-ins that won’t be out until the next two years or so, but no tax credits are mentioned for the purchase of hybrid vehicles available today.

Otherwise known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, this stimulus bill is worth $787 billion all in all. Presently, it gives up to $2500 tax credit for buyers of low-speed new electric vehicles. However, this has been criticized as a “pork barrel” for golf carts.

On the plus side, however, it allows new car buyers this year to deduct the local and state taxes paid on their vehicle purchases from their annual federal taxes. While $1.7 billion is allocated to fund this tax deduction, this move received a lukewarm reaction from consumers, probably because they won’t be seeing the figures realized until the end of 2009.

Once the next generation plug-in hybrids and fully electric vehicles are introduced into the market, consumers will be better able to see the benefits of this stimulus bill. Tax credits reaching up to $7500 are offered to buyers of 4-wheeled plug in vehicles with 4 to 16 kilowatt-hours of battery power loaded in them. At least 1 billion of the total funds are allocated for this particular tax deduction.

Also on a more positive note, the bill also expands the limit of the tax credit program from 250,000 hybrid cars all-in-all. The stimulus bill’s limit is now a total of 200,000 plug-ins and hybrids per manufacturer.

The Panamera may be inspired by the revised Boxster and Cayman judging it on its looks. It is a wide sedan at 75 inches and measures 55 inches in height and 195.7 inches in length. We saw this car on a Porsche FanBlog a couple months ago — and it’s really coming along now!

The entry level engine will be a 3.6 L Volkswagen with six cylinders and outputting 300 horsepower. The S variant of the Panamera will roar at 400 horsepower supplied bt a 4.8L V8 engine. The Turbo model will blaze the roads with 500 horsepower. All these models are equipped with the PDK gearbox which is dual clutch.

Click here to view the embedded video.

The car manufacturer is also designing a hybrid counterpart of the Panamera but no official words have been released about its specifications.

The Panamera will be released as a standard rear wheel drive but owners may opt for four-wheel propulsion if they want. The Turbo version will be released as a standard 4-wheel drive.

The interior of the car is engineered to be optimal for driving following the Porsche tradition. No official photos have been released by the manufacturer. The rear seats can also be folded to create more cargo space.

The Porsche Panamera is expected to have a sticker price of $127000. Production will be done in Leipzig in Germany and the engines assembled in their Zuffenhausen headquarters. Porsche foresees selling around 20000 units every year.

The Fusion model of 2010 comes with a four powertrain option improved to have an output of 175 horsepower and 172 pound foot of torque. The 2.5L engine also features a variable intake and cam timing, electronic control of the throttle, and improved exhaust system. The 2010 Fusion is said to be 10% more efficient than its predecessor which performed at 20/28 city highway mpg.

The sport version of the Fusion 2010 with a Duratec V6 3.5L engine has a power output of 263 horsepower performing with a torque of 249 pound foot.

The Fusion and Milan will also carry the hybrid option of the Ford engines that can have a top speed of 47 mph. It uses a 2.5L engine that hits the scale at 155 horsepower with a 136 lb-ft torque. The hybrids are utilizing smart climate systems, improved nickel- metal hydride battery which is 20% more powerful, and uses regenerative braking.

The 2009 release of the hybrid also introduces the use of SmartGauge that provides an EcoGuide for drivers. The nice panel display gives a feeling of a video game. The more efficient use of gas pedal rewards the driver with a digital display of vines and leaves.

The gauge of the hybrids is also capable of displaying fuel economy, comparative look of fuel consumption, and the leaves and vines representing the ‘green” lifestyle of the driver by giving him a green car!
